CHALLENGE

The country's leading extremity surgeon turned wanted to create an essential tool solution not available to trauma surgeons during tendon repair in the hand and wrist. The final intent was to develop intellectual property and license the solution to a medical device manufacturer.

SOLUTION

ATOM provided an instrumental role in developing a Tendon Retracting Surgical Tool that simplified surgery and was useful in the delicate task of sewing severed tendons back together in order to restore the fingers, hands, feet and toes of a patient.

RESULTS

The Tendon Retractor was licensed to one of the leading manufacturers of extremity surgical implants.
