Challenge - Convia, a Herman Miller Company, had developed a Sustainable Energy Monitoring Infrastructure for tracking energy consumption in buildings ranging from single rooms to entire campuses. With the systems in place, Convia turned to ATOM in creating a software application and GUI that would be an engaging interface to present the endless harvested energy data in a systematic and graphical view.
Results - ATOM took the lead role in not only shaping the Graphical User Interface and information display but programing a sophisticated, free standing software application that harvested essential energy usage data from a backend acquisition server. The team infused a humanistic aspect to the GUI by integrating a tree icon that expressed the visual status of the areas being monitored. First installation was the USGBC Headquarts in Washington D.C.
